Trouble shooting
In the unlikely event of a problem the best approach is to do the obvious first. Place a clean glass at 45 degrees under the tap and open the tap fully.

  1. No beer? Is the keg empty? If so, you will feel gas coming from the tap. Is the gas tank connected? Are the valves open? Is the coupler on the keg connected?
  2. Foamy over gassed beer? Is the keg empty? Is the gas regulator set on 2.75? (Regulator should be set on 2.5 in winter months) Was the tap opened all the way?
  3. Headless beer which comes out flat? Did you pour it properly? The head disappears too quickly or doesn't form at all. Is the regulator set on 2.75? Is the glass clean? If the head forms then disappears chances are high it's a dirty glass. Anything oily, like greasy food or ladies lipstick will destroy a beer's head.
  4. Beer starts out ok but then the line splutters? Make sure the line is clean and all the connections are correctly attached.
  5. The Beer tastes funny? Have you been following the cleaning schedule religiously? Are the glasses beer clean? Is air getting into the beer somewhere?
  6. The Beer tastes funny and is darker than usual or cloudy? Clean the lines. Has the keg been tapped more than three weeks ago?
  7. There are little chunks or flakes in the beer? You guessed it; clean the lines and clean the tap. These particles are not harmful in any way. They can occur when a previous cleaning loosened up some deposits.
